30th Anniversary Garden Party
Cerny’s 30th Anniversary Garden Party Presents Ed Lyon

Ed Lyon holds a degree from Cornell University in Agricultural Economics and Animal Science. He also has a MS in Horticulture from UW-Madison. While pursuing his graduate degree he worked at Allen Centennial Gardens and ultimately decided to focus his studies on public garden administration. Since then, Ed has served as symposia & Special Programs Coordinator for Chicago Botanic Garden, Director of Education for Olbrich Botanical Gardens, and Executive Director for the Rotary Botanical Gardens in Janesville, WI. Ed also writes and speaks for audiences across the Midwest and writes for magazines including Chicagoland Gardening and American Nurseryman. He is emphatic about focusing on gardening with regionality as a primary focus. He loves photography and takes all of the images used in his presentations. Most importantly, Ed Lyon is an avid gardener with dirt under his fingernails.

We cannot wait for Ed to visit us during our 30th Anniversary Garden Party, April 26th 6:00-8:00pm. Along with Ed, we will also be serving food and refreshments, giving several different demonstrations, giving tours of our facilities, and offering opportunities to win great prizes including 3- $30 Cerny’s Gift Cards! See you there for an evening of friends, flowers and lots of fun!

Cerny’s Greenhouse has been gearing up for our 30th Anniversary and we plan on celebrating all spring long! All winter we’ve been planning exciting classes, our annual Open House, and of course, the Garden Party. Because it is such a special year for us, we decided to do something extra special for you, our dedicated customers. This year at our Garden Party you will have the great privilege to hear Ed Lyon, Director of Allen Centennial Garden, speak on a great topic—”Why don’t my plants look like the ones in the pictures?”. The Cerny’s Crew had the chance to hear Ed Lyon speak this January and I promise you, this is one speaker you don’t want to miss.
